Summer of Lovers Playlist
Graphic Design
In the past summer, the heat in Shanghai was indescribable. I often complained about why I went to work to do design in such a hot season. I felt that the dazzling sunshine was consuming my passion for design. But it just so happens that this song can make my thoughts “colorful” again.

Wet Market & Graphic Design
Poster
In rural China, numerous wet markets exist where food is sold without fancy packaging. Customers, equipped with years of consumption experience, possess the ability to discern the freshness of food items. Meanwhile, sellers explore various ideas to attract and influence consumers’ judgments.

The following two posters delve into the intriguing phenomenon surrounding a seafood booth. Although the products and the surrounding environment may appear unrelated, they come together to create a visually engaging graphic piece infused with a human touch.

Time to Move
Poster
Inspired by Newton’s cradle, where a ball on the left strikes and transfers its energy through the line to the ball on the far right, causing it to rise. The "Stop Asian Hate" movement works in a similar way—let’s ensure our voices resonate through every ball, making an impact across the board.

100 Graphic Design Diaries
Experimental, Typography
During the final three months of my study in the UK, I crafted 100 graphic visual diaries using exercise paper. As a graphic design student, I aimed to capture my observations and experiences in life, along with design concepts, through these visual diaries.

I particularly enjoyed hand-painted typefaces, each carrying a dual significance. The first message rested on the literal meaning, while the second unveiled a narrative woven into the creation process.

Write from memory about Hangzhou
Experimental Work
This is an experimental project where I used the writing grid paper that most Chinese students used in primary school to draw the map of Hangzhou. The four pictures were drawn from my memory without reference to any images. I aimed to distinguish different areas within a limited grid, ranging from downtown Hangzhou and subway lines to Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou’s location in East Asia.

Drawing from my memories of Hangzhou, I utilized color to differentiate between areas on the grid. Specific locations were indicated by handwritten Chinese characters, preserving the original sense of space as accurately as possible.

Money
Poster
(Left) It seems we’re forgetting the details on money. Living in London, I rarely handle GBP; the outline of two coins on the poster represents my memory of the pound – the weathered 2p and the distinctive polygon of the 50p, both leaving a strong impression.

(Middle) When my father said: “This year’s lucky money will all be spent on school.”

(Right) Energy is Money; individuals strive to build a vibrant life in their youth. The dynamic posture of the woman in the poster evokes a sense of joy and strength, symbolizing a spirit of enterprise.
